The hesitation...
The conversation usually starts out the same way when I am speaking to a business owner inquiring as to what a vehicle wrap costs. They have seen them on other vehicles, they have seen them on their competitions fleet and perhaps they have seen and called off one for a service or product that they themselves needed. There is always a hesitation. A fear maybe or some other source of shielding keeping them from investing in one. I typically find that its all about the money. There is a misconception that a vehicle wrap is a huge investment. Granted a good vehicle wrap can cost a few thousand dollars depending on the size and type of vehicle, the art involved and the amount of vinyl needed to convey the appropriate message.
Over the course of time I have found that this hesitation is simply a lack of understanding of what a vehicle wrap is, what it does and what it will do for their business. I know this to be true because the business owners that I have dealt with that have a vehicle wrap view it as a trade secret, they love their vehicle wraps and often are not willing to share exactly how much of a revenue increase they experience because they saw the value in wrapping their company vehicles.
Some Facts...
What most business owners do not understand that is that vehicle wraps are the most cost effective form of advertising in the world. Not only is the cost ridiculously low compared to anything else you can use for advertising there are several other key marketing principles at work here.Cost per impression:
The investment in a vehicle wrap is approximately .0003 per impression. Compared to a flier that is approximately .15 per impression or a mailer that is .43 per impression. If you are at all watching your advertising budget vehicle wraps are a no brainer based on cost alone.
Direct marketing:
If you can show me any other form of marketing where you can take a bill board ( the viewable surface of a vehicle wrap is 6x larger on the ground than a billboard is in the air ) and park it directly in your demographic I will personally go hold your billboard up for you at your choice of locations.A vehicle wrap can be parked where your customers are. A very simple concept but most business owners do not understand this as well as they should. YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO PUT A BILLBOARD DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF YOUR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS!! HELLO!!
Tell me that doesn't make sense. Not only do you have the ability to put a billboard in front of your customers. Think about McDonalds.
McDonalds:
Its widely known that Ray Kroc of McDonalds fame commonly made the point that he was not in the hamburger business, he was in fact in the real-estate business. McDonalds has some of the best real-estate in the world, why? Because it is the most traveled and in areas that will in fact sell hamburgers. Now go back to my billboard analogy. Take a billboard with your companies information and go stake in the ground at McDonalds during the lunch rush. What do you think will happen? Now take your vehicle wrap and park in the same McDonalds at the same time. All of a sudden you are a marketing master.
The bottom line...
Yes a vehicle wrap can require you to invest 1500-5000 into your business. The reality is that every other effort you pursue in marketing will not have the power and return that a vehicle wrap does. There are several other reasons to invest in a vehicle wrap that I will have to post them separately.A properly designed and installed vehicle wrap is the best form of advertising that you can do for your business period.
